Sandy’s Story

“I didn’t think I could buy an apartment or understand my super, but I did.”

Sandy’s Challenge

Sandy had sold her previous home and was renting. Heading toward retirement and lacking confidence in her ability to afford a new home, she turned to Viva.

“I didn’t feel totally bamboozled, which is what I was afraid of in the past.”

The Outcome

By understanding Sandy’s circumstances and what she really wanted, we helped her to buy a new apartment and take back control of her finances, including her superannuation. Sandy is now almost eligible for a full age pension and finally feels financially secure. She can afford her home loan repayments, is minimising her tax bill and accumulating further savings.

“I feel more confident, in control of my finances and very positive.”

How We Did It

  1.  We helped Sandy to understand her super and showed her how to make it more tax efficient.

  2.  Sandy was able to find a new home and secure a larger mortgage amount than she had previously envisioned. With our guidance, Sandy was able to pay off her mortgage in two and a half years.

  3.  We also supported Sandy in becoming a better saver, enabling her to adjust her spending habits and become more conscious of the need to save.
