Andrew’s Story

“I just want to play golf.”

Andrew’s Challenge

Andrew was concerned that his super and retirement savings wouldn’t be enough for he and his family to on when he retired… And they had been drawing on mortgage repayments to afford school fees and unexpected living expenses for school fees and living expenses.

Having experienced the sudden death of a couple of friends his age, he was also concerned about providing for his family so they could meet mortgage repayments and living expenses should the worst happen. He wasn’t sure about whether and how long to keep working, and if his finances would ever be sufficient for him to enjoy some down-time.

The Outcome

Andrew is more in touch with how his finances are structured, understands how to keep costs under control, and is not so worried about what how retirement might turn out. And, he’s teeing-off on the greens on those days when he feels like it!

How We Did It

  1. We worked with Andrew on how to best clear his debt and credit card overdraws

  2. We advised Andrew on reducing the tax payable on his investments

  3. We gave Andrew tax and estate planning guidance to minimise costs and maximise future benefits to his family

  4. We helped Andrew restructure of his super and insurances to lower costs and support better investment performance.
